Full Season Coaching

Picking blueberries in your landscape is the sweetest reward...

A full season coaching program consists of a minimum of four site visits, an initial written site assessment, client goal/ vision statement, and an overall end of season goal.  From there the client can choose which services or combination of services will best fulfill their needs.

We begin with an initial site visit and interview at our normal hourly rate if a client is unsure if a full season coaching program is the right fit for them.  Once we establish a full season coaching program is the right choice, we ask for an initial deposit (equivalent to 5 hours) and a contract to establish a clear understanding of what services to expect throughout the season and a mutually agreed upon rough schedule. We build flexibility into the contract to ensure that we can meet a client's changing needs throughout the season.

We are also able to provide a larger number of services to our full season clients with options for in person installation and project assistance to give our clients the confidence to make their dream landscapes successful.  Check the list below for a full overview of the services we offer.

Types of Services

Assisted Plant Nursery Visits- An accompanied visit to a local plant nursery or greenhouse to help select plants for the garden.  We can help ensure that the plants chosen are healthy, pest free and will be successful in each landscape niche. Available to our full season coaching clients.

Plant Buying and Delivery-  A service we offer exclusively to our full season clients who may have busy schedules that prevent them from visiting plant nurseries.  We are happy to come up with a precise plant list, find all of them available at different nurseries and deliver them to the client's home.

Installation assistance- For season long clients we are happy to assist homeowners installing berries, fruit trees, shrubs, and perennials.  We can layout plants to ensure proper spacing and planting depth.

Ecological Landscaping Education- A main component of our coaching program is to help educate our clients in the ecology and interconnections between soil health and plant health.  A functioning and healthy ecosystem relies on many different parts working together, of which a well thought out landscape can play a positive role.  Different ways to attract songbirds, beneficial insects, sustain native pollinators, and increase the overall soil health are all topics we can help educate homeowners about.  This can be informal and connected to each phase of the season's coaching, or cover specific topics of the client's interest.

Maintenance Plans-We take the guesswork out of garden maintenance with a custom maintenance schedule and plan for your garden.  Especially helpful for perennial gardens and edible landscapes.

Phase plans- Sometimes a client has a long term goal for their landscape which needs a season long or multi year approach.  With a phase plan we can help streamline and create an order of operations for the project to prevent unnecessary work and resources.  The timeline is adapted to each client's time needs and abilities

Installation Guides- Particularly helpful when putting in berry bushes and fruit trees for the first time.  Proper planting is essential for the long term health and productivity of a landscape, and we provide detailed diagrams and instructions to achieve good results.

Care guides- Some plants need some extra love, and we can create custom care guides for the ones that do.

Native Plant Recommendations- We have worked with many types of native perennials over the years and can recommend successful species for every garden niche, and also how to care for some that enjoy extra attention.

Pollinator Habitats- We specialize in pollinator habitats!  We give expert advice on how to start turning your landscape into a haven for many kinds of native pollinators.  No matter how small, there are ways to attract and sustain pollinators.  We can help with a list of pollinator friendly flowers, easy ways to create habitat, and gardening methods to help keep them in the landscape.

Medicinal Herb Gardens- For folks interested in growing their own medicine and looking for help getting it started.  We have experience growing and processing a wide array of common and unusual medicinal herbs, and can help steer people towards effective medicinal plants and ways to grow them successfully.

Orchard Troubleshooting- Pruning advice and instruction, basic orchard care for most cold hardy fruit trees, and help identifying potential diseases and pest problems.

Resource Guides- Recommended books and sources for knowledge, live plants, and materials.  Giving you the tools to DIY.
